VTBAS Remembers Irving Peddrew

Irving Linwood Peddrew, the first Black student to attend Virginia Tech and the first Black alum, passed away May 11. He was 88.

"We lovingly remember, honor and revere this trailblazer on whose shoulders we stand. He chartered a course of Black student excellence that paved the way for future generations," said Laurie Brogdon, president of the Virginia Tech Black Alumni Society (VTBAS).
